Today I’m sharing my number one go-to outfit in my closet, my bodycon dresses. I have at least a couple dozen bodycon dresses, but I’m always on the lookout for more because I’m obsessed with them. You can’t go wrong with bodycon dresses, they’re so easy to wear and they work for any occasion. From the casual jersey ones the Kardashian girls love to wear, (I admit that they influenced some of my decisions) the sleek and structured ones like those designed by Victoria Beckham, to the sweater dresses, bodycon dresses have become a year round wardrobe staple for me.
How I wear a bodycon dress
I always wear a slimming or shaping garment underneath my dresses, never the hard or uncomfortable one, but the thin flexible one. They make you look sleek in your dress, give you a little extra hold where you need it, they’ll even make your butt look firmer.
I wear my dresses knee length or slightly below the knee, I think it’s the most flattering length because it hides any imperfections around the knees. Anything shorter highlights them, while a few inches longer looks awkward and makes you look shorter because most of your legs are covered. The right length makes all the difference.
What shoes to wear with a bodycon dress
This part is up to you, I mostly wear sandals in nude tones or the Yeezy Season 2 transparent sandals I’m currently wearing to lengthen my frame, but I also love to wear boots, booties, cage sandals… you get the picture. I let the occasion dictate what I wear. I can’t wait until it gets cooler so I can start wearing my dresses with boots again.
