Are Blazers The New Black
Blazers are definitely the new black; they have joined the ranks of tees and jeans to become American style staples, with the ability to transform basic or casual outfits into chic and sophisticated looks. They are always appropriate; they work well with almost everything in your closet, and can be worn on any occasion. Blazers and jeans for instance, work in almost every occasion; they’re a great travel outfit and my go-to when I travel; a chic option for hanging out with girlfriends, and a sexy alternative to a dress for date night.
From fitted to masculine, cropped to long, it’s easy to find blazers to suit any style. They can be paired with dresses, long, short or in between; shorts, pants and jeans, for an ultra-chic look. I love fitted blazers the most because they’re feminine looking and the best fit for my body type. I also like blazers with lengths no longer than the mid point of the butt; this balances the waist-hip proportions very nicely, making you look like you’ve got an hourglass figure; which seems to be the look of the moment. By far, my favorite way to wear a blazer is with jeans and a tee. This is my look; I love this look; I live for this look; it is to me, the epitome of chic sophistication.
Why I Love Blazers
I think I got into blazers and jeans after seeing celebrities like Eva Longoria and Kim Kardashian rock this look. I’m in love with blazers and skinny jeans in particular and I wear them when I’m going for a sexy chic look; when I want to look chic and sophisticated I opt for boyfriend jeans and a crisp white shirt. Heels and a tote complete the look for me. My must-have bag is a Birkin and my favorite pumps are Louboutins, Manolo Blahniks and Gianvito Rossi. This is also my last resort when all else fails.
My favorite colors are black, of course and any shade of cream or ecru; now that’s the money color. Cream blazers are slicker than your average; they stand out in a crowd and have a luxe appeal that elevates your look. To me, cream blazers give the illusion of privilege, making you look like you belong in a higher income bracket. Balmain and Escada know a thing or two about this; they make the most amazingly beautiful cream jackets I’ve ever seen.
So how do you wear yours and what fit works best for you? I’d like to hear what your thoughts are so don’t forget to comment. As always, thank you for following along on my fashion journey; until next time.
